Today was a very sad day for me, for I had to cremate a very close, dear friend. I betrayed my robe while in Park City and bought a beautiful new chocolate brown fuzzy robe, one that will not look so worn and stained because of the demands I put upon it. I know most robes should never be worn while painting, or welding, cooking, and cleaning, so the color of my new robe is perfect for me! Goodbye to my old robe, I love you.......
Please note: I did not know the camera was rolling before the robe set on fire, or I would have been nicer to the puppy, added funny commentary, and spoken smarter, yeah I know "turning the fire on!" but I was talking to a 4 year old!! yeah, that is a good excuse right!! I MEANT lighting the fire!!!

What a fun bonfire made out of such a sad occasion. Did you roast marshmallows?
I will be thinking of you during this hard time.
May pinkie rest in peace.
My favorite part was the "lookit! It's melting!" This is my kind of goodbye.
You are a very brave soul. I have an old, favorite blanket that I hold in the same regard. My husband would love nothing more than to burn it, but I will never, ever let that happen.
Very funny. Were you wearing the new robe when you did this, or would that have been disrespectful to the old one? Oh, and welding...?
Oh....goodbye pink robe!! You will be missed!! BUT--I can't wait to see you in the brown fuzzy one!! Here's to taking the kids to school in your robe!!
I'm so deeply sorry for your loss! I'm glad you had the support of a Brown robe to help with the pain and suffering!
PS. I honest to blog wasn't trying to win the contest (although it would be nice)I just didn't have anything to write about today. If there had been any other contests, I would have plugged those too....
My sincerest condolences Wendy...I can't believe you torched it!!!LOL! You must take a NEW pic with this intruder robe!!
all for the entertainment of my blog! Sky was sad, he said, ohhh I don't think you should burn it! then after the fact, I thought I should have kept it and put it in the airstream! we always go camping and it would be nice to just have a robe packed so I can wear it around camp too!!
oh well too late!
NOOOOOOOO! I can't believable!
I love the picture of the lighter fluid peeing on the robe. LOL! Poor Pinkie. She's in a better place.
funny thing! my daughter wasn't watching us while we lit the fire, and then she watched the video when I was pouring the fuel on the robe and she was screaming, gross, ewww, who is that!!! she thought someone was peeing on it. LOL
where are pics of the new robe?
Hi Wendy, I changed my identity to protect the not so innocent.
I am sorry to hear of your loss, but look at the bright side...makeovers are always fun. Think of all the delicious things you can do while decked out in brown. You can start your day eating chocolate chip pancakes, then pig out on chocolate fudge cookies for dessert, bake German chocolate cake, frost with melted Hershey's kisses, bathe in chocolate syrup, dip your spoon into chocolate mousse, and finally dance in the mud. I would try to look at it as a glorious beginning.
I wish you the best as you let go of the past and begin anew with the present. I'm sure all of the "better in brown" activities will help your children adjust to the change as well.
Your new friend in the Keys,
Marilyn
Hi there...found your blog through Rychelle's. You are very funny! Sounds like this robe has led a very fruitful life, but I'm sure you were glad to move on! And the video is very funny! Nice ceremony!
BTW, Feel free to check my blog out any time, too! http://jessilosophy.blogspot.com
Best,
Jessica
So very sad!:(
Wow. Didn't realize that this had transpired--so when do we get to see the replacement?
Blessings!
That's hilarious! I love that you have a fire that you can turn on. Cool.
Enjoy the new robe. I'm sure the old one is happy where ever old robes go.
Do you need a casserole? Flowers?
Oh my. I have a pink robe, too.
What amazing flames!
I'm sorry for your loss, but am so glad that you have a better replacement.
