For Brittany!

So after reading Brittany's blog, it brought back lots of memories! I wanted to look for my scrapbook page that we did for LDS family services, Let me tell you all right up front, that Brittany's is MUCH CUTER! and back 8 years ago, they didn't tell us any rules about the scrapbook page, so mine would probably go in the hall of shame! As you can see, I am NOT a scrapbooker!! In fact they didn't even call it a scrapbook page back then it was a photo collage! Yes, I am showing my age!So no matter the pages, your birth family will find you, I am living proof! LOL! You must click on the pages to get the full effect...........

I couldn't find the first scrapbook page for our first adoption, but I could find the one we did for the second, I remember we had both pages filled with Sky and our Social Worker said, you have WAY too many photos of Sky in here, the birth mom with think you have no room for another baby, so we did one page of us and one page of us with Sky!

My advice to Brittany is just be yourself! We also had to give a portrait of ourselves and Malen had a Northface coat on, the social worker asked us if we wanted a more formal photo, we later found out by our birth mom that, because of that photo was one of the first reasons she liked us and was drawn to us, the birth father loved to ski and always wore North Face jackets!!

By the way, November is National Adoption month, so I think I will be posting some more adoption stories this month!! Good Luck Brittany

That's so great that you two have this in common! I think adoptive parents are really special people. Even if they do have a tattoo or two. ;)

I only told her about your 'naughtymormon' blog that was hilarious.... She was unaware.

Erin,
I was just kidding!! You can talk about me all you want, too bad I deleted that blog! I could have shared it.

:D Great cheerleader. You're so darn cute, too!

I remember photo collages, too. And I am NOT a scrapbooker, either. That usually surprises people because they think I must be crafty since I'm an artist. Ummm, not so much. Most crafts turn into knick-knacks, also not my thang!

I have sooo many friends who have adopted and I LOVE each and every one of their stories! They are all so different and special! I can't wait to read more adoption posts from you!

I love that you stuck with the casual pic instead of feeling pressured to have a formal picture. I would think that there are some birth mothers out there who just want their kid to have a normal life, not a perfect one. I can't wait to read more of your stories.

It wasn't an official meet and greet. Erin and I just met for lunch because she's moving to Texas! She's great!

And yes, it was only kind things, and that the blog was hilarious and she was said you deleted it.

Wow, those are great! Thanks for posting those! You did a much better job showing your personality than I did. And NO those would not be in the Scrapbook of Shame. LOL

I think I'll go back to edit mine and try again. Yours gave me some good ideas!

These are great pages - a great way to show your personalities. I'm so glad you have two beautiful children. Let's all start praying for Brittany too!

I love your pictures! You guys look like TONS of fun. Which I totally know you are. If you ever decide to do it again - PLEASE post the picture of your road kill racoon so they can see how fun of a mom you are ;)

There is a porcupine that has been on the side of the road on my way into town for over a week. It's really cute and totally just looks like he's sleeping. I think of you EVERY time I pass it. :D

Love the pages and the fact that you took so much time to give this advice.

I agree with Whit- I love the dead raccoon pic! When I was running yesterday there was a deer leg in the canyon road. I would have loved to pick it up for a great practical joke, my I was crying because of the uphill canyon road.

These are great. I hope that when you were in the cheerleader outfit you went around singing, "Hey Ricky you're so fine." 'Cause that's what I would do.

Good job, Wendy. I WAS good yesterday. I was very proud of my self. I was good today, too. BUt in all fairness, today the candy was pretty much gone. My kids had a pretty small haul. I guess most people here trunk-or-treat, so there weren't many porch lights on. That's okay. My daughter's birthday party is Friday so MORE treats. I want hold myself to one brownie. (we're not big cake eaters.)

Hello. My wife and I bought our house about 6 months ago. It was a foreclosure and we were able to get a great deal on it. We also took advantage of the 8K tax credit so that definitely helped. We did an extensive remodeling job and now I want to refinance to cut the term to a 20 or 15 year loan. Does anyone know any good sites for mortgage information? Thanks!
