Don't Drink and Vote!!

Did you know that it is the law, atleast where I live, that bars and restaurants can not serve alcohol on election day, until 8 p.m. when the polls close! The reason is that, they do not want people to drink and then go vote, and vote drunk!!

My friend and I went to Iggy's today for lunch and they had signs all over, that due to that law, they could not serve alcohol! So I decided I would play a joke on our waitress, and I ordered a Corona, expecting her to say, "Oh I am sorry, ma'am, we can't serve beer today!" No, that is not what she did, she wrote it down on her little tab!

Fear started to fill my stomach, what if she brings me back a beer! What will I do! So I sheepishly said, "Never mind, I'll just have a Diet Coke!"

I have no idea if she knew I was bluffing and was trying to call me on it, or if she had just got to work and didn't know they couldn't serve beer! I was going to let her leave, with my beer order, thinking she'd come back and say sorry ma'am! But I wimped out, and got my safe Diet Coke!!

That is so funny! I have a friend who jokingly said she purchased alcohol yesterday, just so she could get plastered today and then vote. Hysterical!

Yeah the courts aren't allowed to hold court today either- lest corrupt judges try to make deals with defendants like "If you vote for _____, we can lighten your sentence." I'm glad the government saves us from ourselves.

Admit it, you really just wanted a beer.

That is freakin hilarious! I bet in WY they would encourage that! There is 3 bars and 2 drive up liquor places where I live, but the nearest Walmart is 1/2 hour away. See where we put our priorities? I'm with vanessa. You really just wanted the beer. Hee, hee. Oh, and I added the follower thing to my blog, just for you!

I thought they changed the law on that? Maybe it doesn't apply until next election.

Maybe she didn't know that a corona was alcohol.

LOL jillybean. Mormon waitress?

Probably good you changed it, though, since they bring them out already opened.

It's too bad we can't regulate politicians who are DRUNK on power. Too much? OK sorry. I am really feeling cheesy today.

HAHAHA!!! That's so funny because on Monday night I saw Ann Coulter on Hannity and Colmes say that in order to vote for McCain she was going to have to get rip roarin' drunk first! Good thing she votes in NY, huh?

My 7th grader had a band concert last night. My husband was pretty annoyed. You'd've thought it was on Christmas Day! I don't know why his panties were in a wad over that one--he voted first thing in the am.

O.K. Now that is funny, on so many levels. I would have done the exact same thing, only it would have been a vanilla coke. Hey, my additude is: if your gunna put that much crap into your body, go for the full enchilada.. mmmmmMMMM Think I will go have one now...
